COSP™ CLASSROOM

Teachers hold a very special position in our society, a position of influence, trust and enrichment. As a teacher, you have the unique ability to significantly impact the lives of your students, and as such, our leaders of the future. Educators are tasked with reaching their students on a multitude of levels; from academic skills, to emotional development, relationship building, self-esteem and lessons that will help them succeed far beyond the classroom.

The objective of this journey is to enhance your ability to form secure relationships with the children in your care, as well as to provide you with functional tools and strategies, enabling you to make your job as a teacher more impactful.

As registered facilitators of the Circle of Security® Classroom Program, we utilise the COSP™ model, to help support, strengthen and promote security in a classroom setting. In addition, we explore relationship complexities, separation distress, direct and indirect cues, and teaching stressors.

During the course of this journey, we will focus on:

- Identifying the needs behind student behaviour. How to make sense of feelings, emotions, cues and miscues.
- Building a connection with your students.
- How you can create a secure and structured environment, to foster independence and growth.
- Exploring ways to respond sensitively to your students’ cues.
- How to be consistent when giving praise or confronting challenging behaviours, while maintaining a focus on encouraging self-awareness and responsibility.
- Skills to communicate directly, positively, and firmly.
